IEEE 5G and Signal Processing Society

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) is IEEE’s first society, established in 1948, and its fourth largest. SPS members are as diverse as the signal processing field itself, with more than 17,000 members spread across over 120 countries in varying fields, professions, career stages, and age ranges. SPS serves its members with high-quality publications, world-class conferences, educational resources, networking opportunities, and student services, cementing itself as the premier association for signal processing professionals and a trusted resource for the global engineering community.

Conferences

SPS sponsors or co-sponsors dozens of conferences annually, including three flagship conferences:

  • IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP)
  • IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP)
  • IEEE Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP)

Publications

SPS sponsors seven unique journals across multidisciplinary signal processing fields of interest, plus dozens of co-sponsored journals and periodicals across IEEE. Additionally, the bi-monthly IEEE Signal Processing Magazine publishes tutorial-style articles on signal processing research and applications, as well as columns and forums on issues of interest. IEEE Signal Processing Magazine is the primary resource and communication platform for issues concerning Society members and the signal processing community.

Education

SPS’ newest education offering and member benefit, the SPS Resource Center (http://rc.signalprocessingsociety.org), launched in June 2016 and features demonstrative videos, tutorials, white papers, and more.
