Introduction

The IEEE is making available an on-line dynamic database of all the IEEE Standards and Projects under its purview. The database aims to assist the IEEE 5G Initiative identify all the standards related activities that may be relevant to IEEE 5G. The database is dynamic and modifiable. It has been designed to be enhanced by potential stakeholders and contributors to the initiative.

For maximum value to stakeholders, the database requires review and input from participants that have developed standards and started projects in the IEEE to identify how they pertain to the IEEE 5G Initiative.  The initial version of the database has 'tagged' many projects and standards as being 5G relevant, but there surely are missing or erroneous entries, which is why help is needed in reviewing and modifying the content as you deem appropriate.  There is a means to submit an opinion on any IEEE Standard and its relevance to 5G.

Using the links as indicated below, please locate standards/projects that you are familiar with and provide input on how those standards/projects may be related to 5G and Beyond activities and applications.

Thank you for your participation.

  • Database of 5G Relevant IEEE Standards and Projects
This database is a 5G-focused tabular display about IEEE Standards and Projects that includes characterizations assessing each Standard/Project’s relevance to 5G and 5G usage scenarios. Use this database to understand the 5G relevance of IEEE Standards and Projects.
  • Database of all IEEE Standards and Projects
This is a tabular display of all IEEE Standards and Projects, including numerous descriptive fields. Use this database to read extensive information about all IEEE Standards and Projects.

Instructions for navigating the databases

The databases are supported by Zoho Reports database software. To learn more about using Zoho Reports, please go this link.

Viewing the Data

You may wish to “Freeze” the first column (Project ID) of the table for ease of viewing columns of information that are wider than the display and require horizontal scrolling. For help, see:

https://www.zoho.com/reports/help/table/working-with-tables.html#Freeze_Column

There are two ways of doing this:

    • Click on the “Project ID” column header to select it
    • Right click
    • Choose “Freeze Column.”

OR

  • Click on the “Project ID” column header to select it
  • Click on the “More” menu tab (top right side of the page)
  • Choose “Freeze Column”

Filtering, Sorting, Exporting, and More

Filter Data: This feature enables you to view a relevant subset of your records by looking for specific words, numbers, or characters within a specific column. Here is information on how to filter data using Zoho Reports:

https://www.zoho.com/reports/help/table/working-with-tables.html#Filtering

You’ll find the “Filter” button on the top, right side of the table (near the Search box)

Search for Data: This additional filtering feature enables you to view a relevant subset of your records by looking for specific words, numbers, or characters anywhere they occur in the database table. Here is information on how to search for specific information using Zoho Reports:

https://www.zoho.com/reports/help/table/working-with-tables.html#Searching

You’ll find the “Search” box in the top, right hand corner of the table.

Sort Data: This feature enables you to rearrange the rows of your data – sorting by date, by number, or by alphabetical order. Here is information on how to sort data using Zoho Reports:

https://www.zoho.com/reports/help/table/working-with-tables.html#Sorting

You’ll find the “Sort” button on the top, right side of the table (near the Search box)

Export Data: This feature enables you to export the selected content of the Zoho Reports table into a specified file format: CSV, PDF, XLS or HTML. Here is information on how to export data using Zoho Reports:

https://www.zoho.com/reports/help/table/working-with-tables.html#Exporting_a_Table

You’ll find the “Export” button on the top, right side of the table (near the Search box).

More: The “More” menu button (top, right hand corner of the table) enables you to Show/Hide Columns or Freeze/Unfreeze Columns. Here is information about both functions:

https://www.zoho.com/reports/help/table/working-with-tables.html#Show_Hide_Columns

https://www.zoho.com/reports/help/table/working-with-tables.html#Freeze_Column

Note: By default, some data columns (those of less general interest) are hidden. If you wish to see which columns are hidden or to unhide them, click “More”.

Other features: You can resize columns by dragging the borders. You can also reorder columns using the icon in the top left of the table. For details, see:
